Post-Surgery & Wound Care
Post-surgery care is individualized care developed according to a combination of postoperative instructions from a physician and the patient’s specific needs. It often includes pain management and wound care, and can sometimes include rehabilitative therapy. Personal-Touch Home Care provides trained clinical and non-clinical services by professionals specially trained to deliver care in the home. Services can range from a few hours a day to more intermittent care and often include:
- Wound Care, including changing dressings/bandages and draining fluids
- Medication management and education
- Taking note of postoperative progress and communicating directly with the physician
- Checking vital signs
- Assisting with postoperative physical therapy and exercises
- Educating patients on self-monitoring for symptoms or signs of complications
- Assisting with bathing, dressing, and grooming
We were referred to them by the VA. It has been an absolute pleasure…the person assigned to my dad is a great fit…caring, compassionate, thoughtful and most importantly, pays attention to my dad’s needs.
